Hey guys, wanted to get everyone's opinion.
I am 6 foot, 250, somewhere in the region of 40-50% bodyfat. Of couse the goal is to get back down to 220, my lean weight. I have tried the CKD, did not notice any fat loss after 2 weeks, gave up. Do you guys have a preference when it comes to cutting up, should I just stick to a regular diet, and if so, point me in the right direction so I can find what cals I should be taking in everyday and the proportion of the fats, carbs, protien. Does anyone think that diets such as atkins or CDK are better? Really needing some input here.

Well, everyone is different..... so try 1 method for 4-6 weeks see how you do and if it's not working for you, switch...

Ya, I tried the CKD diet for 2 weeks, and I was actually gaining weight. SO I am thinking about just going regular, including fats, protein and carbs, but mabey just go small on the carbs instead of all the way out. What is a good ratio for these?

Well, I'm a female.....but I still try to get at least my bodyweight in protein g per day and try for 25+g of fiber per day, net carbs = about 100g.....

I track everything via www.fitday.com

Fit day is awesome, I am using it also, you know,I have tried everything except just eating regular if that is what you want to call it, just seems that the fad diets dont work for me. What do you and anyone else suggest for the percantages of daily carbs, fats, and protien intake?

If you are trying to preserve muscle, I'd go with 40/30/30 (P/C/F) or 45/25/30 if you are carb sensitive. Also, have one or two carb up days per week.

It takes will-power, time and pain. Quick fixes don't work.

Dude!
As long as your burning more calories than your taking in and hittin' the Gym like it owes you money the ckd diet or diets like it will work just fine. There are many ways to lose weight, find one that works for you. I actually like experimenting with different ideas and aproaches so don't give up if one particular approach isn't working for you at a certain time.In fact starting Monday I'm going to try the all natural Penutbutter diet from Mr. X I got my training, food and suppliment down so i,m gonna go for it (man is it going to be hard) Anyways to Re-cap
1.) Train hard, Train lots
2.) Figure out your diet and stick to it.
3.)Get lots of sleep/rest (unlike me, it's 12:30 and i'm wired)
4.)Stay Positive/Motivated

Hope this helps a bit bro

I can only add that normally, loosing a large amount of weight cannot be done with a diet that eliminates a complete macronutrient ratio (aka CKD). The reason being that this type of restrictive diet is VERY hard to stay in and if you are lacking willpower you will not make it...

A more balanced approach, centered around calorie burning (through training) with a moderate calorie reduction will most likely take longer but be most effective on the long-run.

Remember, we don't talk about diets, we talkk about sustainable lifestyle changes... a lifestyle change is not gonna happen in 4 weeks...

The highly restrictive diets have their place. In my opinion a CKD type diet will be perfect for somebofy who is already very low bf and wants to peak for a certarin event... in this case, I say: Go for it: give it your best for 12 weeks and then it's over. But to loose 40-50 lbs?
