Belly Wrap...

I had a friend who always wore this wool thing around gut to burn off fat and show off his abs. What is this called? Does this actually burn away fat? Or does you just temporarily loose stored water or something?

I talked to a man with a PhD in Fitness and the like, and he said such a thing was no good and would just dehydrate you. I'm a little sceptic. I used to be fairly scrawny, but since this past summer I've gained 25 lbs. Some of it was muscle, but a good bit of fat wound up on my gut, so now I'm trying to loose it, without loosing the bulk I've gained. I thought I would wear such a thing while running, or even all day like my friend did - and of course watch my hydration.

Any advice?

My buddy just bought one of those from Wal-Mart. He says its working for him so far. He said he definitely sweats a lot more. When you sweat you burn calories, so it must be decent at least. Wrestling guys lose 5-8 lbs. in one practice using plastic pants and shirt. This is the same kind of theory. Make sure you stay hydrated!

Are you serious? There's absolutely no way that sweating burns calories...and not a chance that this thing will burn body fat. Wrestlers dropping weight are losing water...not muscle or fat. Sorry to sound like a jerk but it's tiring to hear about all these "easy" ways to lean out. There's no magic bullet...eat clean, lift heavy, and get rest...

it's all water. This question comes back every once in a while... as soon as you drink up, it will all come back.
