beginners strength routine

Hey guys, I'm looking to get strong/big after starting in 2 weeks, but I don't know how to organize a workout routine for strength because the only thing I have done up until this point is cut.

can anyone suggest to me a solid routine for a novice in building for strenth? how many days a week should i be training, what lifts to do on what days, etc.

thanks

Start your workouts with compound exercises, bench press, deadlifts, shoulder press, squats. 8 - 12 sets for large muscle groups and 6 - 8 sets for smaller muscle groups. Train 3 x a week and eat a proper diet. Dont expect to get big in a short time, train heavy, eat well, be dedicated and it will come in time. I dont train for strength but i have always found 4 - 8 reps to be good strength builders. Also you posted in the diet area, better to post in the weight training area.

Yea raze gave generally good advice.

First of all, post this in the weight lifting area. Secondly, in my opinion, this is the best beginner program.

Guide to Novice Barbell Training, aka the Official RIPPETOE-STARTING STRENGTH FAQ - Bodybuilding.com Forums

It concentrates on compound lifts and getting big. Just read through it all and don't skip anything. Seriously, it looks long but just do it.

Otherwise, be dedicated, don't expect to look like a professional bodybuilder in 2 weeks...it takes time. Eat a clean diet and no excuses.
