be careful of subway wraps...

Subway

Subway, which also sells Atkins-endorsed sandwiches, says its Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap with Swiss Cheese has 19 total carbohydrate grams, but the Good Housekeeping test found it had 27 grams of total carbohydrates. Levine points out that different amounts of ingredients can result in different carb and fat counts. She points out that in one of Subway's meals, the serving was actually "a smaller portion than we expected."

And they are freaking tiny too. I could eat about 6 of these at one time.

I was talking to the girl making them and she said the they are acutally told that on the atkins wraps how much of each ingredient to use. For example, you ask for olives, you get 2. Only 2. This is actually printed in their materials. I wouldnt have believed it if she wouldnt have showed me. But then again, I have seen that the attendants dont actually make them that way because the customers get upset (rightfully so)

Basically Subway wanted a low carb selection so they created one by making a very small sandwich with limited ingredients that will actually not satisfy anyone. So officially they can claim low carb, but in reality, people get the toppings they want, and more carbs.

Hopefully there will be some defintion and regulation of "effective carbs" and 'net carbs' and all of that other bullshit, that companies are using.

everything low carb is bogus. I bought keto pancake/waffle mix the other day. The serving size said 16g - 1 three and a half inch pancake. Now the ingredients needed to make one regual size waffle is 1 cup of keto mix which is much much more then the serving size and comes out to like 20 carbs instead of 1.5 net carbs. Why do they scam like this? Why don;t they actually make something that people can use and still stay in ketosis? The subway low carb wrap is the same thing. How on earth are you going to stay in ketosis when you have 20 grams of carbs? Thats not low carb. Low carb would be like 4 carbs total.

there is lots that's low-carb...chicken, steak, and tuna being some of my favorites :D

Also watch out for restuarants trying to make an extra buck off the low-carb craze. I went to TGI Friday a few weeks ago and they have a NY strip with crumbled blue cheese and broccoli for something like $17.99 (no salad included). The flip to the regular menu and find a NY strip with broccoli, baked tater, and salad for $16.99. Make sense to you? $1 less WITH a tater and salad? So there's no crumbled blue cheese on top...big deal. I ordered the regular strip with salad and got double broccoli instead of the tater...$16.99 :D

There isn't anything low-carb, if you take into account sugar-alcohols and all the other bullshit, like you are supposed to.

I was in subway the other day getting my usual turkey on honey oat, and in front of me this fat chick was with her BF. She ordered a wrap, but they were out. She got this crappy ass look on her face, and said she wasnt going to get anything.
I'm thinking "damn bitch, that little bacon/chicken thing aint gonna make you any skinnier."
People don't have a clue.

I usually eat Subway atleast 2 times a week for dinner. Yes, those Atkins Wraps are very small and not worth it, also costs a lot. I wanted to know what would be a good order you would get from Subway. I usually need to eat a whole sub and a half to be full. I know this is not a good order but I usually get half tuna on whole wheat bread and a whole turkey on italian bread, all the ingredients.
