ABout a year ago a told my Gyn to change me to Ortho-tricyclen.
She did change me from Triphasil to The ortho-tricyclen.
Few month on the ortho I found myself bledding for about 3 weeks. She then changed me to Ovral.
The reason she gave me for the bleeding was a "hormonal inbalance" she mention to me that the Ovral has the same amount of hormones in all 21 pills.
I am planning to go to Gyn pretty soon.
I am going to ask her to change me to a very low estrogen pill. Or is there in the market any pills that have no estrogen at all.( I notice that since I have been in the pills I gain weight like crazy..
My only concern here is:
1) I do not by any means whant to get pregnant.(hell no)..no more kids for me.
What do you ladies think...??
I know about the IUD...but my mon got pregnant with it..and had some complications during delivery....I do not know if I should trust it..

I have been on the pills for over 5 years...I I need to find some other way.
Maybe my last option..since I want no more kids...Is just to get my tubes (cut) yeap..I have been thinking about this in the past few years. Even talked to my Gyn..and she does not agree with it. Damm.. she saids I am too young...what the hell..I am going to be 29 in 1 week...And I already have a child..so why do F#%^ I can not do it..F##^.
Sorry I just get very emotional and angry..
COmments please

REconfirm with my mami...

I just reconfirm with my mom...and indeed she got pregnant using the IUD....she said her doctor told her "it moved" somehow.
and due to that she had to do a c-section, Her first after few kids(deliver vaginally).
I will do my research I talk it with my Gyn...

I was on Ortho-tri cyclin and I asked my doc if there was an even lower estrogen pill and she gave me one called Alesse which supposedly is the lowest dosed one available.
As far as other methods...I suffer the same issues, I don't want a kid but I like to sex my man and we both hate condoms and I hate the pill!!!!!!!!!!
Endless cycle it seems. But maybe ask about Alesse

I think any method of brith control has a failure rate. I wouldnt worry about being pregnant too much because sometimes it can take years (but not for everyone) to become pregnant after stopping bcp completely.
I had the same problem going on bcp, bleeding all the time. If you are still having break through you may want to take iron because atleast in my case i became anemic 3 times. Is it the side effects or taking the pill that you dodnt like? Have you heard about the new patch (just like the pill but you wear it)?
I tried three different pills and my OBGYN said that each pill takes up to three months to adjust too, so you could have side effects each time you switch. I take estrostep and had terrible headaches when i first started, migrains where i would throw up. But after a three months i was fine. I'd research yourself unless you OBGYN is very involved b/c sometimes doctors simply write you a script and send you out the door while they pocket insurance money and listen the the latest drugs being advertised.
