Baby food sweet potatoes

Lean and Mean

New member
So I was watching Made on MTV, the episode was "I want to be a bodybuilder" (LOL). A pro body builder named Peter Putnam has this over-weight kid eating the baby food form of sweet potatoes that come in a jar for one of his low GI carbohydrate sources.

It seems fresh whole natural sweet potatoes would be a better option, assuming the baby food sweet potatoes in a jar have a bunch of other crap added to it. Anyone know if this jar form of sweet potatoes contains any ingredients that would be detrimental to a body building diet?

I wonder if the PRO body builders really eat this shit.

HAHA i saw the same crap today with my GF. I wanted to punch that kid in the head the whole time. Seems like they always waste that show on losers who fight at doing what they want to be "made" into.

For me, I love sweet potatoes....it gives me more energy and have a big muscles....

I dont think you are going to notice a bit of difference in the long run eating baby food sweet potatoes vs "fresh whole natural" sweet potatoes bro. Eat what you think tastes better.

For the record, I checked the ingredient list on the side of the jar for these at the grocery store and it only lists "Sweet Potatoes, Water". So it appears there are no harmful additives or extra bullshit in the vegetable jars, just the vegetables blended with water. The fruit however has some sort of acid which I assume keeps the fruit fresh in the jar.

I'm not trying to advocate the consumption of baby food, and I will continue to eat whole vegetables as much as possible. I will however keep a few of these on hand for the times you are on the run and don't have time or access to a microwave/stove/etc. to cook a sweet potato.

By the way they don't taste bad, it tastes just like sweet potatoes. The kid on the MTV series thought they tasted like shit because he was so used to eating Taco Bell 24 by 7

Baby food isn't too bad.. I mean... we're ALL human... it's just pureed... same shit though... The fruits are actually pretty good in shakes.... :)

how much fiber does it have? i am guessing that they may remove the skin and also over cook them taking quite a bit from them. but even if they do your ideah of using them as a back up still sounds good to me.
