first off those pictures of u hoisting those stones are bad assed.
secondly, i was wondering how u train for your strongman competitions. third, Im 17 years old, 6'00'' 235lbs(when not in football), pretty lean, and fairly athletic.(5.0 forty). these are my best lifts as of last winter.

Parallel squat- 355 x 5 reps, 400 x 1 rep

Bench- 265 x 1(who cares about the bench anyway:mad: )

Power Clean- 250 x 1

for the past 6 months i have also incorporated sandbag training, tire flips, farmers walks, and hard grip work into my program.

my biggest question is do you think that through hard training and eating i could begin to compete in strongman competitions in say 1.5 to 2 years.

bonan - Big B fold spends some time on the Powerlifting board as well. Might want to try this thread over there if he doesn't respond soon. He probably will though.

Sorry I didn't see this post. I have been under a ton of stress lately.

I basically train west side and do events either light during the week or heavy on saturday or sunday after lifting. You can definately compete. Lifting strength rarely crosses over into strongman events.
