Aspirin May Prevent Muscle Breakdown

Hey everyone, ive been lurking around for a couple of months and decided to finally join hehe, anyways , i thought id post this interesting article.

Aspirin is a common, yet very powerful drug that has been available over the counter for many years. Research in the mid 1990s, revealed that adding aspirin to the well-documented ephedrine/caffeine supplement stack enhanced fat burning effects. Recently, researchers at the University of Rome, Italy, have shown that aspirin helps prevent muscle breakdown.

The researchers gave aspirin or a placebo to a group of healthy subjects prior to a 30-minute running session. Blood tests after the run revealed that aspirin lowered the levels of ACTH, cortisol, and beta-endorphin. These are chemicals associated with muscle breakdown (catabolism). The results suggested that aspirin may help blunt the secretion of catabolic hormones during intense exercise.:)

and here i never took aspirin even when i had a headache for fear that when it constricted bloodflow, protein synthesis would be hampered...

This is anecdotal as I do not have any research to back up my
claim. When I take aspirin or a pain reliever that contains
aspirin immediately before my workout, I seem to be more
alert and focused. My workouts generally go better. Again,
this is just my observation. I do not have any scientific proof
to back up this assertion.
