Aspirin lowers aromatase activity

Aspirin and other NSAIDS lower COX enzymes, which in turn lowers prostagladin synthesis and ultimately aromatase expression! 325mgs a day is also being recommended to healthy subjects for cancer prevention.

This could be very useful to us. I'm sure it does not suppress aromatase to the degree that an AI would but in cases where a milder suppression is called for this could be the key. Most research on aromatase is done on breast cancer but if you read this study and others it seems pretty clear that COX inhibition lowers aromatase in the human body regardless of cancer being present.

NSAIDS should be avoided if you are a weightlifter. this is one of the cardinal rules to lifting.

unless of course you want to cause permanent damage to your tendons, ligaments and joints.

Even aspirin? What about ECA stack? I'm sure plenty of weights have been thrown around with that in the system. I could see why you are correct though since prostaglandins are important in inflammation response. Maybe aspirin is a mild enough COX inhibitor?

yes aspirin is an anti-inflammatory. if you are 60+ then by all means take it daily rather than suffer. but younger guys shouldn't be messing around with them, unless they want to look like King Tut by 40..

if you want an AI that won't screw you up then go with forma.

Thanks. I looked into what you said and its true, you want that prostaglandin for the recovery and protein synthesis. Damn, I thought I was really on to something there.

part of bodybuilding is learning to listen to your body.

if you get tendonitis in your elbows then ease off the pulls.. if you get pain in your knees take time off the squats.. if you pull your shoulder muscle then lay off the militaries, etc etc. when you take NSAID's/anti-inflammatories it tells your brain you have no pain. so you will keep pounding away at the injuries and make things worse. so embrace pain and learn to listen to it for your long term health! now if you are a pro athlete getting paid 200K per game and you need to get on that field because you are gonna be a free agent after the season then by all means fuck yourself up and take whatever to get on that field, but no one on here is in that situation so its a non issue. this is why Barry Sanders retired early from football, he didn't want to screw himself up like so many other RB's who keep pounding away and now are crippled

Don't take it *before* lifting... It'll mask the pain and you'll do more damage. 4 hours before lifting, you'll be fine.

Aspirin has many benefits. Just this month they published an article

In one of the studies, published in The Lancet, researchers from the University of Oxford analyzed patient records from 51 trials that compared people who took aspirin every day to people who took no aspirin. They found that taking daily low-dose aspirin (less than 300 mg) for 3 years resulted in approximately a 25% lowered risk of developing any type of cancer.
