AS and pregnancy tests

Okay, here's something I've been wondering about for a while.

If you are on AS and still sexually active (sounds like that's pretty likely, given some of the stories about libido increases on here, lol) and you start skipping your period, how do you know that you aren't pregnant?

Seems like many of you aren't on the pill for fat cutting reasons, or whatever, so this must cross your minds.

Will the AS hormone havoc play tricks on the piss on the stick type of home pregnancy test kits or what? Do different types of steroids have different effects on the kits? What's a girl to do?

Very curious.

But I still wonder: Can the tests tell you if you'r pregnant or not when you're on? I

I mean, if you're on Deca and you have a lot of nandrolone in you, which I think women make when they are pregnant, will the average over the counter test give you a false positive, for example?

Has anyone had experience using these tests while on AS?

if there was a time when u have been VERY unsafe (we've all had those moments )...like if u were ovulating.... or participated in the other very unsafe ...very enjoyable pleasures of sex ..... and are really concerned i would go get a blood test done right away!! i wouldnt wait around to see if the home test pops up positive...

The thing is, I'm thinking about going on AS, and I don't use the pill. I have only missed a few periods in my life and am rarely late, but when I am, it really really freaks me out, cos I ain't ready for kids.

So if I start missing periods, I really want to be able to make sure that it's the AS, and not a little Wyst on the way.

I don't see how AAS would cause a false positive for hCG. But, nothing is for sure in the realm of women using AAS. We just don't have the data.

None-the-less, I'd be really careful with AAS and possible pregnancy. While Ms Lobo's experience was positive, it is only a matter of time before one of you gets pregnant while on, and it adversely affects the fetus. There is no 0% probability of anything.

It is just best to make sure there is no chance of getting pregnant while on a cycle.

Cool. Thanks for the answers, everybody! I do take it seriously, very seriously, that's why I want to be able to monitor the situation, instead of just hoping that the missed periods are because of the AS. I'm super super careful.

Bottom line you can get pregnant on or off a cycle..so plan and be cautious either way.
