Peel core & cut 1 large or medium Granny Smith apple into small dice and place in a saucepan (use a largish one you'll need the room!) Pick over & wash 3 cups (12 ounces) fresh cranberries and add to the apple along with 1/3 cup orange peel, 1/4 cup water, 1-1/4 cup sugar (gonna try it with Splenda), 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ground cloves. Bring to a boil, turn heat down to a simmer, cover & let cook gently for 10-15 minutes. Watch carefully so it doesn't boil over cuz it makes a mess!! Transfer to a bowl & let cool.

Wonderful with turkey, chicken or pork.

Should be "cranberry" in the title but I'm on my first cup of coffee........

Oh and this is sooooooooo much better than that canned junk.

Jenscats5,

Do you have any idea what the nutritional info for this stuff is?? It sounds great! I think it would be an excellent "add-on" to make foods less BLAH!!

Thanks,
PinkPanther :)

I put all the ingredients into fitday.com & didn't add for sugar as Splenda has 0 calories.....This will be for the whole recipe:

319 cals
83g carb
24g fiber
2g protein
2% fat (1% sat, 2%poly & 1% mono)

The recipe is very flavorful....so you won't need to eat the whole thing!!
