Apparently I'm a Working Girl Now!!!

I've heard funny, cringe-worthy stories of kids embarrassing their parents before, but I think my little 4 year old just took the cake at Reasors (grocery store chain here in beautiful oklahoma) when she decided to randomly "introduce" me to the guy standing behind us in line by saying,

"Hey You! This is my mommy!" At which point she pauses while he nodded politely* "Did you know she's a working girl?" *insert another long pause as she thinks some more about her next line....while I slowly start to realize what she just said*

"But guess what?!?!? She doesn't have to work tonight!!!" Heh.

It didn't help that I was in my normal grocery shopping heels. So needless to say we worked on some new "introduction techniques" for her to use instead next time on the ride home together.

lol. that dude for sure thought you were a hooker if you were wearing heels in a supermarket

American kids are so loud and outspoken....kind of like their parents

did she give the cake back?

bahaha. well she is my mini-me....

give it back?!?!? of course not! we teach shoplifting (especially shoplifting of baked goods and pastry treats) at a very young age here in ok-le-homa.

oh boy. you are right.

I REFUSE to wear sweatpants and tennis shoes with a matching mommy ponytail just so i can be extra "comfy" while buying strawberries even though my chiropractor says he is going to force me to go to the mall with him to purchase my first pair of "flats" *SHUDDER*

thats funny lol i used to live in OK too, in sulphur. its about an hour and a half south of okc. and ironically, when i was small i accidentally stuffed a muffin in my pocket cuz my mom wouldn't listen to me when i was asking if i could have it, so when we got home i pulled it out and asked if i could get it now? hahaha

Did you also happen to be wearing the top you are wearing in your avatar, exactly as it appears there? :D

If your daughter told me you were a working girl I probably would have asked how much...

...and then ducked for cover.

I like what you've got in your avatar, like to see a lot more of the rest and all. Yummy mummy!

b0und (mhmmmmm)

I can be pretty girly, but if I'm just out running errands you can bet your ass I'm gonna wear jeans, t shirt, and tennis shoes/flip flops. Chances are my hair will be in a bun or ponytail too lol. I enjoy looking sexy for my fella but no chance in hell I'm gonna pay the price of that beauty for a bunch of strangers.

'sides, jeans and tees can look cute if they fit right, it's not like you have to go full scrub to be comfortable haha

i wear raggedy work clothes with holes in em most of the time. but i am comfy. nor do i really care what people think.

Sounds pretty good to me girl. I def don't think u have to dress like Ms. America everywhere and I have more jeans than i can count...(and love wearing them). I just happen to wear them with heels or high wedges cuz I basically obsessed with heels and I'm deathly afraid of waking up one day in tapered jeans and not knowing how I got there. haha :)

Why????! I don't get it. I can't help it that I love heels. It's funny because people think I dress up for attention and want they don't know is I'm wearing the same outfit at home with just me and my daughter while I'm cooking dinner and such. If it was for other people, I would kick off my heels and scrub my make-up off the second I got home, but I don't.

TripleBlonde loves being a girl. But it is true, my chiropractor agrees with your sentiment. :)

lol you're fine - I just think its redic you wear heels to the grocery store. Just not for me. I love heels too but they've taken a backseat ever since I had my daughter. They only come out on the weekends ;) I am a WAHM and proud of it, I love to schlep around town in my flip flops. Its only for a short time anyway so i'm trying to relax and enjoy it. You're fine if you want to wear heels to the grocery store lol :) I was just commenting on it, you know its a little rediculous dont ya?? ;)

mmm.......perhaps so, but I tend to lean toward the sentiment of ridiculous is relative. :)

of course it is :) are we talking 3 inch platforms or what

Weeellll....um, I own and pretty much have grocery shopped in all of heels that I have attached pictures of. But, in all fairness, I have to schoomze it up every day at work with clients (No, not THOSE clients) and am always pretty dressed up and I usually grocery shop after work. If I grocery shop on the weekends, I'll usually wear a sundress or cute jeans and a tee with mid to high wedge sandles of some sort. :)

Welcome back... What else happend besides a 4 year old?

Hey! Good to see you on here again. Let's see....I finished college, got married, found a cool career I love even though it required becoming a bit of a tech geek, started practicing bikram (hot) yoga about 2 years back. My goal is to eventually become an instructor and teach part time on the weekends. Would like to practice for at least another good year before attempting any formal training, but I'm addicted. 90 minutes, 105 degree heat, 3x a week. Besides weights, nothing else I've ever done has ever changed my body (for the better) more than Bikram and it is awesome for the soul too.

And that is the last 5 years in a nut shell. What about you? From the looks of that picture, you are rocking out some serious training mojo!!! :)
