Anyone play resident evil 5?

i just bought it today for my computer. Pretty cool game.

For those who haven't played it, it takes place in West africa. You run around killing black zombies with various types of weapons.

The graphics are pretty good. I have to run it on medium settings though since my graphics car isn't top of the line(nvidia 9500 gt 1gig ram).

Ive played most of the resident evil series and this one seems to be the best so far. It's pretty easy to play. You get an AI partner who helps you. You can tell her to be aggressive or defensive and she helps you fight off the zombies.

I rented it for Xbox 360. Lost interest after 4 hours or so and never played it again. Was fun while it lasted

How are the keyboard/mouse controls?

It's surprisingly good. I thought it was going to suck because I played a game (alone in the dark) that was transferred from console to PC and the controls sucked. In Resident evil 5 the keybaord mouse is easy to use. The mouse look option is better than controller option. I played resident evil series on playstation and my main grip with it was not having a mouse to look around.

The only thing is you can't shoot while running because you have to press down the aim button in order to shoot and you can't aim and run at the same time. I guess it's just not a First person shooter thats why.

I didnt like Resident Evil 4 and 5. I would rather play the older ones that had a ton of puzzles

It's more because the developer is being lazy and relying on the same tired gameplay mechanic as a means of "building suspense" rather than coming up with something more modern. Hell even in Silent Hill you can move and fire/swing a weapon simultaneously, and that game has loads of suspense.

This does sound like it's worth a try when it hits the bargain bin though.

Don't let the lack of puzzles dissuade you from trying it out. I don't know if I had played part four or not. Was that code name Veronic on playstation two? I remember playing part 1, 2 and maybe 3. Was three with the Nemesis guy? I forget.

Anyways part 5 is cool in that you have a partner that goes aorund with you. You can play network mode two or online with a partner. As the game progresses you can use the money you find in the game to buy new items/guns or upgrade your current weapons to do more damage, shoot faster, hold more ammo etc. Theres also things you can unlock by playing harder levels or doing levels faster.

Overall a pretty fun game. I'v eonly had it for almost a day now and its been fun so far.
