Anyone lift 2 days in a Row?

yes definitely how do you not?

one rule of thumb is to try to not lift MORE than 2 days in a row, but sometimes my schedule works out to where I life 4 days in a row. It's a bit rough but as long as I get a couple days off after that I'm ready to start back the following week.

huh.I forget Where I read it but I read that you cant recoup that way.how does it work out for you?

one body part per day is the best way to recoup! Best gains have come offf that!!

I do three exersices typically....9-12 sets ..Im in and out in 35-40 minutes...leg day and the occasional back day might be 45ish

What?

Muscles should ideally get 48 hours of rest even if certain excercises overlap muscle groups.

You may have misunderstood what you read.

Like you don't want to hit chest on monday and a gain on tuesday - you'll never grow, you'll just keep breaking down the muscle.

sure, just never the same body part two days in a row.

Same here.

We rule!

Mines 4 exercises with 4 - 5 sets. Still about the same number of sets as the shadow and AAP.

Mon-Chest
Tues-Shoulders, traps
Wed-OFF
Thurs-OFF (basketball for cardio)
Fri-Back
Sat-Arms
Sun-Legs

that's a typical week for me.

I've seen this before - does he really not lift regular or is everyone just teasing him?

I like to break it up into 3 35-40min. workouts twice a week for a six day rotation of every muscle twice. I take Sunday off because even God does and it seems to work for him/her. When I'm off the juice I sometimes drop a day in the week if it all hurts a lot.

say I do back on Monday then I do this whole body cardio/endurance/light weight, highg rep thing on tuesday (the class I posted abotu that totally kicked my ass), then Chest on Weds. then that whole body thing again on Thursday and shoulder and arms on Friday, legs on Saturday

would that be over training?

Ouch you people are mean today.

Fireflyer, of course they are teasing. If you wonder what I look like picture TucBiscuit, only 200 pounds lighter, a lot more muscle, and a much better looking face.

does anyone masturbate two days in a row? or is that counterproductive too?

what you want to do is divide you week up into "heavy" and light days, iwth a day of thrown in

Monday: chest, tri's
Tuesday: lower back, bi's, abs

Thursday: upper back, delts
Friday: legs

seems to be working for me

There's more than one type of overtraining.

1.) overtrain your muscles by using the same groups back 2 back and not giving them a chance to repair.

b.) overtraining your CNS by lifting heavy and going to failure everyday regardless of what muscle groups you're working.

Monday: Chest
Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Bi's/ Tri's
Thursday: Legs
Friday: Shoulders

And finish up with Abs after every workout. 4-5 excerisises for each body part and 5x5s.

before I lost feeling in my hands. I was lifting 7 days a week.

you can train 4-5 days a week - it all depends on your intensity. if you are training vitamin free, i would only do 9-12 work sets in a workout..

all depends on other factors though - the amount you sleep, eat, and general stress levels. check out articles from ian king on www.t-mag.com on it - he is the master at this stuff.

did it for years and gained size (2days on, one off, one on)

best strength increases were when i had the time to put a days rest inbetween

now i struggle for twice a week...and in a few months i may even have to become a weekend warrior :(
