Anyone know what they test for when becoming a firefighter?

I want to plan a new cycle and start it in the begining of November, but I was wondering what kind of drug tests they give to firefighters?

for the most part, most jobs, unless it involves athletic competition, only check for rec drugs, i.e. marijuana, cocaine, etc.
steroids arent usually an issue that they check for.

i heard that the do test for steroids.......you are working for the government.....thats coming from a police officer....dont know about firefighters though.....probably ask you something about it on the polygraph....gl

I agree with garrisx but like t-mo said it is a government so you never know. Although I'm assuming it's a "city" government and most (smaller city depts.) probably do not test for gear, rec only, as garrisx said. I would imagine, unless they had a specific reason to test for gear, or it's department policy, they would only test for rec drugs. Larger city departments may or may not be different depending on policy, funding, etc. With the use of AAS supposedly on the rise, some departments/city governments may have implemented new testing policies. If you only had access to dept policies or know someone within the agency that might know.

My buddy is a firefighter and he said apart from the physical you pee in a cup for rec drug testing.

I guess I will just have to use steroids that have low detection times and take longer to see results, that way it is not so obvious.

Test Prop: 500mgs ew 1-12
Primo: 1000mgs ew 1-10
DBall: 50mgs ed 1-4
Anavar: 80mgs ed 9-12
Tren: 500mgs ew 7-12

Here in NYC where I used to be OTJ they tested for rec drugs and nicotine cause you have to sign that smoke free healthcare proxy card . As for anabolic androgenic steroids one of my friend that got moved up to Batt. Chief said that in the next 5 years if not sooner the NFPA and OSHA will start random testing just to get a base line fit it's a issue they need to take up.Tell you the truth that's not going to wash with the union at all.

but if it's for vol. dept. the only test you do it a fit test to check your eyes, breathing and heart condition and max Vo2 test and a spinal exam to check of problems.Also they do a hernia exam(drop your shorts turn your head and cough) is all and if they go as far as drug testing it's only for Hep,A,B,C and any blood borne pathogen cause dealing with people you will be exposed many time while on the job.
