so..I went back to smoking a while back..shortly after the baby

theres his bizarre circle of smoking that goes on in my house..one of us quits, the other keeps smoking...reverse

anyway..ive grabbed a few e-cigs ere and there but Im thinkin of switching to e-cigs totally
problem is theyre all stupid expensive initially then you buy like refills for em

Im lookin at this smokestik brand but don't wanna drop a 100 bucks and find out they suck


this probably isn't the message board for this question ..but whatevs, Ive got no place else..yet

We do have a dude in the shop that smoke those e-cigarettes. He was using it in the shop, while working at his station. We re-did our employee handbook and presented it to all the employees a few weeks back since we needed them to sign a new NDA and non-compete. We decided to add banning of e-cigs in the shop and force them into the same small smoking area designated for the rest of the smokers.

He flipped out. It was pretty funny.
 
How do the e cigs work? They didnt have those when i smoked (19yrs a pack a day, quit June 2005, not a puff since)

We did it just to be dicks and shit all over the one guy in the shop that quit cigarettes and wouldn't shut up about e-cigs.

Besides, we can do whatever we want in our own shop.

I've been thinking of taking up smoking a tobacco pipe, however I need to update my wardrobe first. I need a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches.
 
theyre flavored to taste like cigarettes or not..depending on what you get..some actually taste like coffee
theyre usually a glycerin vapor
theyre powered by a lithium ion battery and have a tiny switch in them that turns it "on" when you take a "drag"

you can get them in nicotine or non nicotine
they have no odor
the FDA has been all over their shit since they came out because some companies marketed them initially as a smoking cessation device
lotta people do actually quit using them...but some people just switch to them

whether theyre healthy or not is up to debate but theyve got to be better than actual tobacco use

the times Ive quit (oxymoron?) I always went cold turkey

this is a bit of a cop out but at this exact moment Im not in the head space for it but really want to improve my cardio...and not smell like an ashtray
I havent allowed smoking in my house or cars in probably 7 yrs now? so the smell is extra horrific on clothes/hair if someone just went outside to smoke and comes back in the house

Cold turkey?

I hate smoking my Mom smoked for many years she quit no for sometime hard to remember exaclty maybe 6-7 years.

Not really cold turkey. I went on wellbutrin for 6 weeks and also used the Nicoderm patch system which weans you off the nicotine slowly.

Quitting smoking is probably the accomplishment i'm most proud of. That wad hard as fuck,

Still impressive it's hard I saw my Mom struggle for many years. She got some laser thing done and also used nicotine inhaler to wean.

yeah...I noticed that...some really depended on how hard you drew off of it

the first one I ever got was unbelievable with the nicotine...I got a huge buzz off of it that i didn't like

another brand actually gave me that scratchy throat feeling of smoking too many cigarettes off of one drag


I literally almost killed myself on chantix...wellbutrin makes me borderline homicidal...seriously
the stupid patch (all brands) give me a rash that slowly turns in to hives
cold turkey works..but again..Im not sure Im there yet

the only thing I dont like about the e-cigs is the weight to be honest
 
have you tried the ones available in murphy USA stations, I've heard they arent so bad, the starter pack is like $29.99
 
Ive tried a ton of disposables
only one I really liked was BLU

was considering getting one of the nicer set ups because from what ive read around the batteries are better, the flavor is better..tho the above posted brand is pretty basic with flavors, theyre lighter weight and just higher quality all the way around

Switch to alcohol instead of tobacco. We had a swap meet art show at work this morning. Wine, cheese and salami slices were served. I'm currently drinking Big Kahuna out of a paper coffee cup.

You ever hear of the Outlaw in Kansas City. They throw a lot of huge parties and one year had Jorge Padron in. He made a anni cigar 64 maduro cigar rolled just for the outlaw. I have that aging last few years and will smoke that friday.

Well, lol, I smoke mostly Fuente and Padron Maduros anyway

I like and have Opus, Padron 64 Maduro, Hemmingway maduro, oliva v maduro

you see the pattern, haha

Yeah, I see expensive maduro's. Nice choices though. Try dry boxing your maduro's for a day before you smoke them. They'll burn better that way.

i don't smoke too often so to me to spend $10-15 on a cigar isn't so bad seeing I smoke a few a year. I haven't smoked a cigar in a year.

I will do that with maduro

I forgot to add that one of my favs is the new la aroma de cuba maduro if i smoke more often. only $6-8 a stick

I bought a box of those in Robusto for $75 last Xmas cigar.com had 1/2 priced boxes listed.
 
I smoked for over 25 yrs and quit cold turkey 4 yrs ago last week. Never went back, never wanted to go back
My BF smokes and the smell makes me sick

Yeah, they are pretty good.

My go to's are pretty much anything by Don Pepin Garcia or Jaime Garcia. Tatuaje Miami or EO Cubao are my usual's. Actually, anything by tatuaje or EO is great. I have 1000's of Cuban's aging in coolers, so I smoke Cohiba, Montecristo, Bolivar and Punch quite often as well.

I stopped smoking mid-Feb with the help of e-cig. I still use it every day in the car and after meals. I want to be done with it by the end of this month.
 
e-cigs are the shit! they're like portable little hookahs!

too bad i care too much about not looking like a phaggot to ever use one

To be perfectly honest I am an adamant non-smoker and unfortunately i do not like any type at all. I am happy here in Jersey they banned smoking indoors everywhere besides your own home. I used to play poker on Friday nights and there was this girl who switched to those e-cigarettes and would sit right next to me blowing whatever the vapor/smoke that came out into my direction and didn't give a shit. I asked her to please stop blowing it in my direction because it is still nicotine and I do not want to have it in my system. She flipped out and said she had every right to smoke whatever she wanted and blow it wherever she wanted. I found that to be rude as hell. It is still not known exactly what is in those things or what they can or cant do to a person. Second hand smoke is one thing but this is a chemical that is brand new to the scene and people act like they are candy and harmless. In my opinion I would just quit all together. I know its easier said than done but seriously its expensive and you are already talking about wanting to find a part time job. Smoking has got to be hitting your finances pretty hard especially if the two of you are doing it, e-cigarettes or not. just my .02

nothing in e-cigs is any type of new anything...whether its healthy to inhale is debatable...I think the likelihood of getting second hand nicotine from it is miniscule but I dont see why the "smoker" would be rude about it
people have been programmed to think anything smoking is satan itself so strong reactions abound..I wouldnt expect to smoke it in public

finances..yes again...its expensive but the part time job was a combination of pure boredom and having a little extra to pay down debt faster
the husband makes 6 figures, we live in a respectable home, I own four cars...its not exactly a budget killer to continue smoking...but quitting would certainly create extra funding to pay down the debt
I'd really like to just not stink and have better cardio

It's the eGo. They have a bunch of new models already.
A little more expensive than others but works well and a lot less expensive than cigarettes.

A dr friend told me nicotine and vapour is not a problem. Biggest issue is tar/chemicals and smoke delivery system of cigarettes. Still want to break my dependence on e-cig tho.
