Anybody notice that the UFC is NOTHING like what it used to be?

I have some of the old tapes of UFC 1-15 and the shit is pretty hardcore. I guy elbows another guy, knocks him out on the first hit, and then proceeds to hit him another 10 times before stopping.

Or when Frank Shamrock bodyslams that one guy on his neck and knocks him out. It doesn't show him getting up so I think he was pretty fucked up. I have many fights on tape where people get seriously fucked up.

Now being the loyal UFC fan that I am, I have ordered that last few pay-per-views and I have been disappointed. Not too much action. What is with all of this, "take it to the score cards" bullshit? The guys just pussy around and grapple and then get on the ground and hold each other until time is up.

Does anyone feel the same way that I do??

i agree... UFC went totally to shit when they started adding all kinds of lame rules... such as "ref can stop the fight", "no kicking someone when they're down", etc.

i feel totally the same way. but in ufc 22 the guy from minneapolis minnesota cold clocked the guy in the first 20 seconds and knocked him the fuck out. john lewis also has some good kicks and knees in 22 also.

The UFC is doing some type of BEST UFC 2001 on Dec. 15. I might order that one.

THEY HAD TO MAKE IT "ORGANIZED" AND SET SOME RULES CUZ THE SHIT WAS BANNED IN MOST STATES. NOW IT IS RECOGNIZED BY THE ATHLETIC COMMISION AND THEY ALSO SANCTION IT. I'M NOT SAYING ITS BETTER OR WORSE, I'M JUST SAYING IT HAD TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO CONTINUE. THE PAY PER VIEWS ARE MAKING BOOKOO MORE MONEY NOW.

i stopped watching around 12, but i did get 34 which was high voltage because i was bored... and it wasn't too bad at all... so we went out to rent some that we missed and they well... pretty much blew like tito ortiz in an alley for extra money.

Although watching Mark Kerr destroy people is always fun.
