any hockey fans??

I think Vancouver's ready this time. I'll be watching for sure.
 
hoping for a pens and canucks final. pens win. then i can fly to vancouver and see the pens. not liking the refs. at least in the pens game. it was like a reg season game. i mean the calls were more for the lightning so i should be happy but they werent lettin them play at all. every little thing was called, and then some total non calls that were brutal. cant remember who pulled kovalev down but if that penalty was called it would have saved them a goal, possibly the game
 
i miss old school hockey. way more goals, way more exciting. not that i want ppl gettin hurt but scotty stevens was praised for demolishing ppl. now ppl like matt cooke are the disgrace of the league for the same kind of thing(plus a couple elbows). u get these failed hockey players who were nothing more than cheapshot artists like Ken Danycko who are now "analysts" ripping players apart for playing the way the old nhl was. hypocrits... but with all that being said, its unbearable waiting another 24 hours for my next pens game!!!! Go Pens
 
I love hockey, but I'm not big on predictions.

I saw a part of an interview the other day, where Montreal Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau was asked for a prediction. He told the reporter that he asked coaching legend Toe Blake for a prediction once, and Toe told him "Predictions are for gypsies".

comparing Cooke with Stevens....wtf?
no way Cooke would play that way in "old time hockey" cuz someone on the ice would teach him he couldn't.
I liked Daneyko as a standup player too.
Is that a pokemon in your avatar?
 
im hoping for the bruins but I have a feeling its coming down to the flyers and canucks with the nucks taking it in 6 (mods please change my name to Jesus_himself if this does come true)

hardly prophetic if first seed from west and 2nd seed in east(1 pt. behind 1st)meet in finals.
How bout Capt. Obvious?

yeah that is a bad comparison, stevens didnt have a lengthy list of elbows and hits from behind. i had in mind some of cookes shoulder to head shots that are now deemed illegal, which scotty was praised for. but yeah dave brown or someone would have killed him. Daneyko did have some notable cheap shots. at least by todays standards, not back then. I just hate these analysts. Even Barnaby who i used to love when he played for the pens. Or Milbury the hypocrit. Who actually jumped over the boards and beat a fan with his own shoe. And no that is not a pokemon in my avatar.
 
I'll be pulling for my Red Wings again this year. Hoping they don't break my heart. But I will say this, hockey playoffs are one of the best playoffs to watch. I'm including all sports.

actually this year the NHL set new profit records basically across the board. Merchandise sales, sponsors, tv/radio deals. there was just a big write up on it at the end of the season.

phillys are the best hard nosed team and the canucks are the best finess. plus 1 & 2 seed teams rarely ever make the finals, theres always an upset.

Im not a fan of the capitals. I feel like once ovetchkin gets frustrated and gives up there all done.

True, there are always upsets. It just seems like an easy pick.

Bruins and Philly match up well in terms of toughness.
Flyers were brutal down the stretch without Pronger and they don't have the goaltending.
 
sabres are hott!!watch out.. what did they win 9 of last 10 games or something??

flyers are in serious trouble !

Yea they are. but i think philly's coaching staff sets them above us. Julien is too laid back while Laviolette is all about attacking north south hockey.

Theres too much talent on that team to not go far Giroux and Leino are dangerous. Not to mention they have the drive and experiance playing from behind (last years shitshow with the Bs)

If Pronger does get back in a week or so and gets his rhythm back in a couple games I dont think they will be stopped.
 
its kind of a rough playoffs. as a pens fan i dont want to beat philly without pronger and all their best players in the lineup. maybe ppl are happy not to play against the pens with sid and geno in the lineup, but i think ovechkin and richards or the lightning would rather beat a team at its best then without there best players... although i guess if u win it doesnt matter who was in or out or how u won.
 
Ahh bbr my nemesis from last year. Caps look good but it's a new season come playoff time and Canadians look good again too. At least they won't knock us out of the first round. Good luck again.

i don't think the penguins will even make it past the lightning.

yeah idk if they will make it either. there defense was shit last night. Letang and Martin looked drunk all night. Neal and Kennedy need to start taking 3 strides to the right/left before shooting to to compensate for always missing the net by 4 feet. I share a bday with Mario and my mom always wanted to suck JJ's cawk. So i grew up a pens fan instead of Calgary.. for whatever reason everybody where i grew up hated the flames and oilers.
 
pronger wont be back for a while. he had surgery to put a plate in his hand on march 31st after he re-broke it. flyers are all done
 
well if they can stay out of the box they might be alright. out of the 5 goals 2 were PP, one was 4 on 4 where pens were originally on the PP, and i believe one empty net. althought they did play poorly all night minus a good second period with a couple posts but no luck finishing. and the one even strength goal was a horrible defensive mistake by paul martin. oh well. can only hope they play there best tonight and make up for the effort. if they both play well could be a good game
 
San Jose has the depth this year
