Anti-Youth bias

Its quite clear that there is bias against the more youthful members on here.

Since I have been here the three other people own have had their posts owed have been IP, YGuns and TR.

And now the axe has fallen upon my own head.

Now, these are three of the youngest and entertaining members of the board (apart from TR's beef with the beautiful HR).

However, there seems to be a concerted effort by some of the older members of the board to silence them and attempt to turn this place into a church.

It seems the only younger members who are spared are those who are fairly bland and lifeless.

Thoughts?

I remember how peeps used to look at my friends and I in an envious way because we still had our youth and were having fun and enjoying life (at 23). We hadn't fucked our lives up the way they had (finacially, divorce, etc).

I look at the younger peeps the same way now, but with appreciation of that time of my life. I also realize how young and immature I was at 23 versus 32 and still have growing and maturing to do.

I think some members of this board are caught up in trying to live a perfect life. It is part of American competitive consumerism but touches every aspect of their lives. They are trying to have the perfect body, perfect eductation, perfect SO, perfect job, etc. There is no such thing. This ideal that they are chasing is a ghost and they lash out at those who seem to be outpacing their ability to attain it. This was a prevalent norm in the affluent society I grew up in. If you are doing better than the Joneses, they can at least talk shit about you and hate you for having what they don't.

I do agree though, I think some of the younger people on here make some of the older ones feel inadequate, maybe for the reasons you suggest.

They also seem pretty grumpy. Maybe its having kids or somethin that causes that.

theres definitely something in the age thing tho, we're all under 25

and I haven't seen anyone do anything that bad...
