Another GM Question...

Does anyone know of a theory on the relation of GM 3RM to the squat 1RM? The reason I'm asking is because WSB stresses alot of GM work but I'm not sure that is my weak link... I did a 3RM SEATED GM today with 92% of my 1RM squat!.. No kidding.. So.. my guess is my lower back is plenty strong enough in relation to the squat chain and I need to focus on some other link in the squat chain to bring my squat up.. (i.e. Quads, Hams, Glutes???)

Thoughts? Ideas?Experience?

:D

ps.. Yes I did have to wipe afterwards but it was worth it... lol!

hey CK,

You just answered your own question. Your back is definitely not the weak link. Find a form of GM that gets more hip/hamstring involvement -- maybe others could suggest something since I'm still learning too, and that will probably help your squat out most. Also, of course, hit GHC raise, reverse hypers.

There really is no correct ratio. You should be able to do quite a bti seated as the rom is not as great as with a regular bent over good am. To answer your question -- everything needs to get stronger. A bent over godo am will hit your glutes, low backand hammies -- not in that order. If you aregoing to train wsb you better get used to good ams -- they should be a staple for you.
