Another Fun Kentucky Training Day, 12-14-02

We had a good crowd here for sure...everyone that did not come missed out on a lot of fun and learning (and lots of soreness).

It took us about 4 hours in all to complete the day.

Front Squats
185 x 5 x 2 sets

Speed Deadlifts
315, 365, 415 x 1 each (snatch grip)

Reverse Hypers
light band x 10 x 3 sets

Standing Calf Raises
135, 185 x 10

Viking Press
several warm ups
272 x 5 PR!!!!

Farmer's Walk (I swear mine feel hevier than 200's)
200's x 240' with 2 turns

Yoke/Flip/Sled Medley
620 Yoke, 550 Tire, 310 Sled all for 50'...puker...

Rolling Thunder
several warm ups
237 x 1 PR!!!

Atlas Stones
few warm up stones
340 x 1, light tacky only
415 x 0...lol...lol...lol...:)

Conan's Wheel
several warm ups
8 plates x 1 full turn

I could tell that I was a little out of practice on the events. My strength has gone up for sure, I just need to get back into the swing of things and work on a few of them.

EVERYONE did an amazing job this weekend and not a single person EVER quit!!!!

brian747478' had a good day and worked hard on EVERYTHING and has gotten bigger and stronger since last time.

Zach has LOTS of potential. He could EASILY weigh 300+ pounds and be very strong both at powerlifting and strongman!!!

Aaron and Cheese look a lot a like..hehe. Both of them can scratch their knees without bending over at all. :) He is going to be a force in the world of strongman as he gets bigger and stronger!!!

A very exhausting, but fun day. I enjoyed meeting and training with everyone and learned a lot. This was my first time doing the events. Very tough, but very fun.

They both have the longest arms in the world.

What is the rolling thunder? Like, what does the exercise consist of?

Yoke and Flip

Ryan has one of the strongest backs I have ever seen. At the spurr of the moment he did a pling contest last weekend and barely missed 420 bench, got 675 squat and a 700 deadlift. He weighed in at 241 and was under 225 at Nationals in October. He pulled 400 x 20 that day.

When he gets his overhead strength to catch up with everything else, he will be a huge force. He is one of the top lightweights in the country.

The rolling thunder is a revolving 2 3/8" handle that is slick. As you pick it up the handle "rolls and revolves" in your hands. You have to have a strong grip to do these...and big hands.

Damn... Looks like you guys had some serious fun.... I wish I lived closer so I could either come participate or even watch...
 
It was an awesome day!For those of you that may have been thinking about it but didnt get to make it,try your hardest to get there if there is another training day!!!Everyone was great and it seemed like everyone was having a good time(besides the pain and exhaustian)
