Anderson Silva Vs Vitor Belfort

I'm really a big fan of anderson silva but that is long time ago. After he won the belt, his showing some really bad attitude lately and I'm disappointed. The last fight of his I wish him lost. I hope this upcoming fight will be my victory. Sounds rude?..nahh..:biggrin:
 
I really don't think Belfort can bring anything to the table other then maybe he has better takedowns, but he's no Sonnen. On his feet, Silva can do more. All Belfort has is a punchers chance and faster hands then Silva. The way Belort attacks won't work on him. He set's nothing up, he just fights coming forward, looking to blitz you with one and two's, then stops to reset. He can't fight backing up and he dosen't deal with pressure well at all. Belfort also hasn't been as active in awhile. A win over Franklin? Come on, that's nothing to brag about these days. Will see, but I'm sure Silve is gonna show him up.
 
Silva tends to fight to the level of his opponent. Hopefully Belfort will be a challenge for him and help Silva bring out his 'A' game
 
I am also looking forward to the Jones v Bader and Forest v Franklin fights. This looks like a good card.
 
On paper Belfort doesn't look like he can bring anything to the table, but with that said he is fast as lightning and he hits hard not to mention he will be in Anderson's face. I have only see 2 people finish Rich Franklin. Anderson and Belfort

you clearly have not followed vitor belfort... he isnt a come forward fighter. hes a counter puncher. even in the wand fight that u are thinking off that was counter punching and he attacked. wand was coming forward, vitor tagged him and then rushed him.


i dont know how to call this fight im a huge vitor fan but silva has that belt for a reason. he has more then a puncher chance though. his take downs arent like sonnens but his ground and pound is 100% better. sonnen controlled silva but never hurt him with his gnp. IF belfort can get him down he has a better chance at finishing him then chael did. and vitor can tap that jaw and put people down unlike chael.

Of course I followed him. I was watching MMA before it went mainstream in the states in the late 90's. Think about the guys he's ko'd? A lot of those guys couldn't hang with the expansion of new tools in MMA, such as striking. That was heavly lacking back then, and now most MMA fighters have some kind of knowledge of striking.(still good striking lacks cause it really isn't needed in MMA)Belfort waits but dosen't look for a counter, he looks to catch you off gaurd. A counter puncher will bait you in and punch with you in exchanges going backwards or forward. Andserson isn't no tank abbot. Belfort just blows up with amazing speed. That's not countering, that's using physical tools most aren't blessed with. The new breed is taking over in mma, Silva has been able to crossover, seeing he posses striking ablities above normal mma practioners, with great athletic ablities as well. Franklin, forrest, couture, ice man, huges, sanches, tito, and sherk just for example are being left behind. The level of opposition is a step up now. Only a couple of guys like hendo, rashad, rampage, and bj penn have the tools to be contenders still.

As for 126, it was a tough choice but I'm picking Bader to win too. I think he's fought the more tougher fighters.

i dont think they are all fighting at once. unless im mistaken i thought the sf hw tourney is gonna take like a year lol. all the fights in the tourney are gonna be on their own card. I could be wrong though.

Wow, relax dude. Belfort gots a chance. LOL! You are right about not all of them, but the best HW's in MMA will be fighting in Overeem and Fedor. The only person I listed that won't be showing is Josh. Still it has some of the bigger names in the history of HW's that UFc dosen't have. Here's the card:

Way better card. Also, check out Del Rosario, the kids upcoming in the HW division.

It's time for Anderson Silva to go down.I hope Vitor Belfort can bring him down.Back in his prime Belfort was great,It will be a good match for sure.If Silva wins,I think the next match up should be Silva vs GSP.I know they are in different weight classes but it needs to happen.

You are right. Even if it isn't the better Overeem, it still a badass card of the yr. Ray sefo most likely will Ko him, but you never know. This is his last shot. He hasn't had a big win in awhile. Just think about it, this is the same man that holds a victory over Randy Couture back in the days in Ring.
