And now ladies .... delicious roast vegetables!!!

I do this very same thing, but I use my grill...also, use fresh raspberries, crushed, and add balsamic vinegar, let them sit in this mixture for a hour in the fridge, then grill until soft...add to steak or chicken and enjoy!

OHH South African....now I now understand the reason for your spellings. I thought you were native Japanese with some really outstanding english.

lol! Naah! Native English with some fairly good Japanese :) I used to live in Tokyo - back in the old R of SA now, having "reverse culture shock"!

Patty pans are these small yellow ... mmm, how to describe these? OK, imagine 2 flattish cones with frilly edges joined together at the wide part - this gives you a sort of diamond shape if looked at from the side, but a frilly disc if looked at from the top. If you slice through the widest portion ... um... medially, like a cross-section, you have your two coney top shaped things. If you used that wide portion as a stamp, you'd get something similar to a kiddie's pic of a daisy :) Are you getting the picture? You get bright yellow ones and green ones, ranging from about 30cm to 60 cm across. I don't think I ever saw them in the States, but then, I wasn't there very long. I DID see lots of different potatoes, though! Their flesh is almost like zucchinis, but less fibrous.

That raspberry idea sounds fabbo, Ranger - will try!

My stomach does a long ghastley somersault just thinking about eggplant. Hit me with a plate of steak fajitas loaded with onions, green and red peppers and cheese. YUM. :p

Haven't heard of gem squashes, either. There's another one Cherie had mentioned, although I think it's a fruit: paw paws. I still have no idea what they are. Looks like I need to make a trip to South Africa just to check out the different fruits and veggies. :-)
