All Bran

On most GI lists, All Bran rates lower than Oats on the index (the most comprahensive index i've seen has different all brans for different countries)

anyway
i was wondering if the british Kellogs all bran was as low gi and good for you since it contains sugar and glucse. the ingredients are as follows:

Wheat bran (85%), sugar, malt flavouring, glucose syrup, salt, niacin, iron, vitamin B6, riboflavin (B2), thiamin (B1), folic acid, vitamin D, vitamin B12.

and nutritional info:

Energy
- kj 1200
- kcal 280
Protein (g) 14
Carbohydrates 46
- sugars (g) 16
- starch (g) 30
Fat (g) 4.5
- saturates (g) 0.7
Fibre (g) 27
Sodium (g) 0.85

I estimate that the fact that is so fibrous, it releases the sugars into your system so slowly that it is low GI. I think its good and wouldnt spike insulin to much but still prefer Fiberone or Uncle Sam Cereal.

Fiber one is nice but i like mixing all bran with some hot water then zapp it in the microwave till it's thick and then adding a scoop of whey powder
call me sick but that is so yummy to me :D
