AS I LAY DYING, GWAR, IN FLAMES, TRIVIUM, CANNIBAL CORPSE, TERROR, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, BEHEMOTH, THE CHARIOT and THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD have been confirmed for the second installment of Sounds of the Underground tour, according to MTV.com.

The Sounds of the Underground organizers are taking a different approach to this summer's festival by keeping the number of bands on the bill down and extending the length of set times. Last year most bands got no more than 30 minutes to play.

While dates for the trek — including the official launch date — are still being worked out, Sounds of the Underground will return to Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as cities in Texas, New England and western Canada. Tickets will go on sale in late March, reports MTV.com.

More bands will be announced in the coming weeks.

A few thoughts:

• Um, half these bands were on Ozzfest last year.
• AILD is headlining. Please. Eh, at least I can leave early if I go.
• Behemoth! That would be neat to see.

They better announce some kickass bands in the coming weeks. So far it seems pretty forgettable ...

Let's put two adamant christcore bands on the same bill as Behemoth!!!

Do people even think about this shit?

Quick thoughts:
AILD - Boring as shit.
Gwar - Hilarious live, bad songs.
In Flames - Just play Jester Race, thanks.
Trivium - I've started a band named Quadrivium, and we're that much better.
Cannibal Corpse - "I cuuuuuuuum bloooooooood." At least Gwar actually cums blood on stage.
Terror - "I NEED A FUCKING CIRCLE PIT! POSITIVE AGGRESSION!" Reform Buried Alive, Scott. Terror sucks.
The Black Dahlia Murder - Your drummers keep leaving because your band is trash.
Behemoth - It's like Slipknot for death metal kids. Only band on the bill that has been consistently good throughout their career though.
The Chariot - Dun dun dun weeeeeee feedback. "Hey, let's sound more like Botch!" Terrible.
Through the Eyes of the Dead - "Guys...death metal...with hardcore breakdowns...lots of breakdowns...yeah?" Awful awful awful idea. Deathcore is the worst genre in metal. Yeah, I said it.

I agree, this lineup is really boring.

GWAR does rule live.

If In Flames plays stuff they've been playing on this current tour, then, well, they'll suck. They haven't touched a song from Jester Race, as far as I know.

I think it's because they physically can't play old stuff anymore. Yeah, I went there. Come play Jester Race in my back yard to prove me wrong In Flames! I double dog dare you.

I'm not taking that bet.

Ugh, In Flames is so frustrating. I've never talked to anyone that likes their new stuff more than their old stuff. Why, then, do they still trot out nu-metal crap like we're all looking foward to hearing it?
