A fresh, "new" perspective on dieting

burning can you please post up what foods you ate.
bulking or dieting?

bulking...lots of everything. i TRIED to eat mainly the good clean stuff, and I didn't go out of my way to eat junk, but if there was a pie or pizza coming into the house, or cereal, it was going down my throat.

dieting...Right now, I survive off of canned mackerel with ketchup, protein powder, oatmeal, brown rice, "total EFA" oil, all natural peanut butter...chicken...Er...hmm, yeah that's about it I think hehe.

Well bulking's simple, you just eat. Dieting, well way back when, I had questins about a lot of stuff. Dieting for me was just a lot more complicated.

I will have to disagree I'm afraid. On the basic premiss: you invest many resources in terms of money and physical energy to gain muscle. Then, why gain fat - to let more $$$ squander away on more supps, drugs, foods?
Heh, I thought this was the Elite.....:o

You disagree that *I* feel it's easier to bulk or you disagree that is *IS* easier to bulk? It's my opinion. I have had an easier time bulking and getting the expected results than i have had dieting and getting the expected results, hence my lack of visits to the board while bulking, so you can disagree with my personal results all you want. You are going to add fat anytime you bulk anyway. You are also going to buy supplements for whatever phase you're in anyway. Unless you want to do it without any help and have it take forever. Or of course the "elite" have awesome genetics and may not need help, but some aren't as blessed.

burning -

why eliminate dairy? i've been having low-fat cottege cheese as one of my protein sources in the a.m. and seems to be losing nicely. is it just a matter of how one handles dairy?

Sodium. Makes you hold water. Lactose. A sugar.

Ask Quadsweep..Pitbullstl...Nautica...they are pretty big and ripped guys, who swear agasint milk when trying to cut.

Also..Food for thought...To quote Arnold in Pumping iron.."Milk is for babies".

Don't know how serious he was however.

Wait, I just noticed shak was a female. So you are a gymrat, eat a clean diet, and you dig fantasy rpg's?

Will you marry me?

i think what hes trying to say is that if you control your bulking phase, dieting will be that much easier because you wont have to lose as much weight (getting rid of the 1 step forward 2 steps back bulking mentality many are guilty of)

Thank you!
Burning by no means was I criticizing you - bulkin/cutting are all in summation a concept of fitness, healthy well-being. Bulking is no different from cutting the difference is in calorie intake, but should be just as scrutinized/monitored as a cutting diet. Gaining 30lbs off a bulker might sound impressive - but when you realize now you have to shed 15lbs of that to look like you actually work out, then....:o

BTW: I was not aware that gaining fat on a bulker was a given; whatever..
