i just had a cpt tell me that deadlifts and shrugs will cause irrevesible shoulder and back problems....

she said that it will put too much stress on SMALL muscles.. and cause muscle imbalance problems.... it took a lot for me to not tell her she was nuts....

this a a cpt who gets paid like 30 bucks an hour to come to my office and train some overweight idiots who know nothing...

she told me i couldget a better workout with these resistance bands that she brings then w/ the free weights i have in my basement.......

i feel bad for the people who are taking her advice.....

btw she is completely full of it right.... cause im not gonna stop deadlifting......

Send of some photos of the people she trains and then we will look at some photos of people who use free weights.

I think deadlifts have proven to be one of the most beneficial exercises of all time. I think one problem many people have with exercise in generall is that they rely on cructhes such as weight belts, straps etc which allow then to bypass some of their weak points/muscles and push beyond that. Now dont get me wrong I feel these devices have a place when doing max lifts and such, but far too many people use them for just everyday exercises etc. I always get a kick out of the people who use straps for pull ups. Belts for 15 rep squats, then they go off and do back extensions/ab work and wrist curls.
