911!! Ladies I need your help!!

In about 4 hours I have to sit down with my GF and her Mom and try to explain why steroids I think steroids are good. They both think steroids are not as bad as coke or x but they dont think know they are not "good" for you and that I shouldnt be taking them.

It is going to be hard as hell to get past the fact that not taking them would be better for my health, and get to explain how there are many different kinds, and that there are safe, effective ways to cycle.

Any bros who have had success educating thier girls to the real effects of AAS, not the media bullshit - I need you now!!

Cmon, bros and sistas.

Help me out here.

I think its important to state that you know what you are doing and are always aware of the consequences and are safe in what you are doing. Hell... same w/ taking aspirin, tylenol & ibuprofen.

The fact that they are illegal is a hard one to argue against, but if they respect you and your intelligence, then all you can do is use the same logic that you used to come to the decision yourself to pursue AS. Are you under an ultimatum or something?

Just point out that, if used 'sensibly', they are nowhere near as bad for your long term health as the typical American diet and lifestyle that they prolly follow. It's harder to get around the legal issues so I suggest you try to avoid this aspect as much as possible. I would also try to steer the conversation away from anything relating to "why do you feel a need to take these drugs". There is no cogent answer to this challenge other than "Because I want to". Just stick to the relatively low health risks associated with proper use. If you get really stuck, you could mention that Birth Control pills are also oral steroids and have similar health risks, or that zillions of affluent and vain people get plastic surgery (eg breast implants) which also carries not insignificant health risks, yet no bats an eye at that anymore. Um good luck. I think you'll find that for most non-steroid users the objections are more emotional than rational, so presenting a rational case may make no difference.

I agree with MS 100%, you can argue the legal and emotional postions but don't expect to sway anyone. I would not try and defend a position, but rather educate them in your personal reasons for using AS. This would place them in the position of trying to come up with factual attacks, which are much easier to counter. The best REASON to me would be that you wish to be the BEST physically and mentally that you can become without jeopardizing your health. If they bring up the media arguements, agree with them that there is a small population of abusers much like alcoholics. (If a little red wine is good, a whole pint of vodka is better....type mentality.

Remind them that medically, small amounts of steroids are proven beneficial as outlined by MS. Also, orthopaedists still frequently use SMALL AMOUNTS of AS for treatment of severe muscle strain and back injuries. You can try and educate them to the history of anabolics becoming scheduled and illegal in the US, but make sure you have facts and don't stretch the truth at all. Feel free to say, 'I don't know, let me research that and get back to you,' when applicable. At all cost, remain honest and maintain your integrity.

Some basic communications and negotiating advise: Keep your voice low in pitch, volume, and relativly even. Maintain eye contact when being spoken to, and when speaking, nod when you agree with the speaker. If appropriate smile occasionally, and do not grimace or look angry (even if you are!) Keep your hands relaxed with open palms (no fists), freely gesture towards others with your hands on occasion.. Try to turn your shoulders and head to squarely face those speaking to you.
Do not cross your arms over your chest or tightly fold your hands in your lap.

Ya tell them that they are not as bad as the general public thinks...also tell then that you are followed closely by your doc and the monment anything goes even slightly ascew you will stop ...he he he

Not knowing the whole story, but I would venture a guess that your Gf and her family have heard horror stories of "roid rage" and don't want the little darling to become your next victim. Impress upon them that this is a myth, that you are under complete control of your emotions at all times, esp. when with their daughter, and that you never indulge in fits of temper. And then, of course, make sure this is true.

i once told a girl, and her family, ok, lets say they are bad for your health, then i toldthe dad, you stop drinking, smoking, and eating chips and pork! I told the mom, she has to stop the birth control and her medication! The father used to sit, and drink, and drink and drink, and say he cant understand how anyone would do that to there body! They finally got the point and left it alone! they brought the legal aspect up, so i told them a few things they did illegal, that people really dont call illegal! It worked..
