The Kansas City Chiefs may have the most feared rushing attack in football, if Larry Johnson can stay around to be a part of it.
Despite his latest legal matter, Johnson is expected to keep taking carries away from Priest Holmes when the Chiefs renew their rivalry with the Oakland Raiders.
All news related to the Chiefs had been positive recently, with a season-opening 27-7 rout of the New York Jets followed by quick recoveries to various injuries among some starters. The mood changed a bit late Tuesday with the team learning Johnson had turned himself in to police after an altercation he had with his girlfriend early Saturday.
Johnson was cited for domestic abuse assault, and eventually was released after posting bond. In December 2003, Johnson was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor battery stemming from another alleged incident with an ex-girlfriend.
The Chiefs have said Johnson's latest problem will not affect his standing with the team. The NFL has yet to comment on the incident.
