I doubt he can bench 700 without that grip. When you use that grib, you are using your triceps even more. I use to have that habbit, but i changed my grip because i was scared it'd slip.
Big deal, once i dropped 315 on my head during shoulder press.... Just kidding. That looks wicked painful! I can't imagine how that didn't go right through like 6 or 7 rips ..... and a few spinal disks
I'm looking REAL close at his grip and I think he has his thumb wrapped around. with 700 pounds it really doesnt matter either way once you "lose it" or get out of your groove. You can see that the spotters didnt have any time to react. a scary moment!
