Braves limp into New York with 3-game skid

Fresh off a win last game, New York can stay on a roll Saturday by handling the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves start Tim Hudson, 2-2, 4.54 ERA. His last trip was a win, a 2-0 team win against the Rockies, when he threw 9 innings, allowing 0 runs on 1 hits.

Sporting a 20-9 overall record and a 12-5 mark within the division, the Mets aim to knock the Braves (5-9 in the division) for a loss.

If you don't see much advantage or edge between these teams, you and Vegas oddsmakers have it the same way. The game opened as a pick'em on the line and 8.5 on the total. On the season, the Mets are 20-9, while the Braves are 12-17.

Bobby Cox's team was busy last game losing to the Mets 8-7 as underdogs. The 15 runs sent that game over the total of 9.

The Mets staff is stingy with baserunners, allowing fewer men to reach base than just about every team in the league. Atlanta needs to get to Zambrano and into the bullpen to make things happen today.

ATL: T. Hudson (2-2, 4.54)
NYM: V. Zambrano (1-2, 7.20)
