SFO: Hennessey(2-0, 2.79 ERA)
MIL: Davis(1-2, 6.39 ERA)
MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Doug Davis finally showed positive signs in his last start. He hopes for another strong outing on Thursday when the Milwaukee Brewers host the San Francisco Giants in the finale of a two-game series.
After enjoying one of the finest campaigns of his career in 2005, Davis (1-2, 6.39 ERA) looked awful over his first five outings this season. But the lefthander tossed 6 1/3 solid frames to notch his first win in Milwaukee's 16-2 victory at Chicago on Saturday.
He looks to deliver again on Thursday against a San Francisco squad which posted a 2-0 triumph in Wednesday's opener.
Pedro Feliz blasted a two-run homer and Jason Schmidt tossed a five-hitter to record his ninth career shutout for the Giants, who snapped a three-game skid.
San Francisco on Thursday gives the ball to Brad Hennessey (2-0, 2.79), who has looked solid over his first three outings.
The righthander worked six solid frames on Saturday but did not factor in the decision of a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Barry Bonds of the Giants was hitless in four at-bats on Wednesday and remains two home runs shy of tying Babe Ruth (714) for second on the all-time list.
After this game, the Giants play a three-game series at Philadelphia.
