- The Arizona Diamondbacks will be fighting to snap a losing streak on Friday when they take on the New York Mets at Chase Field.

The Mets will give the ball to starter John Maine in this one. Righthander Maine is 4-0 this season with a 1.35 ERA.

The Diamondbacks will counter Maine with Randy Johnson. Lefthander Johnson has a 6.55 ERA to go along with a 0-1 record this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Mets listed as 130-moneyline favorites versus the Diamondbacks, while the game's total has not yet been posted.

The Mets rallied for six runs in the ninth inning and came away with a 9-4 victory over the Diamondbacks Thursday night in the opener of a four-game set. The Mets won the game as -135 favorites on the road, and the final score made it OVER the posted over/under (9).

Damion Easley belted a three-run homer, and finished 1-for-4 at the plate for the Mets. Aaron Heilman pitched an inning of relief and was given credit for the victory.

Stephen Drew drove in one run and was 3-for-4 at the plate for Arizona. Jose Valverde allowed five runs from two hits to suffer the loss.

you get a hit or a walk an inning against maine, not much
but my hunch tells me randy is ready to pitch a quality game in his 3rd start
and it's at home, friday night and all that ballpark bullshit
pass on this one
can't bet against either pitcher and there's more shit to choose from

Mets 5, Diamondbacks 3

The Mets won their 12th straight game at Chase Field dating back to 2004, led by John Maine, who improved to 5-0 on the season. Julio Franco and Paul Lo Duca each homered off Randy Johnson, who took the loss to fall to 0-2. Billy Wagner pitched a scoreless ninth for his sixth save.
