- The Los Angeles Angels will be fighting to snap a losing streak on Friday when they take on the Chicago White Sox at Angel Stadium.

The White Sox will pin their hopes on the pitching of righthander Jose Contreras in this game. Contreras has a 2-2 record and a 5.68 ERA this season.

Contreras's opponent in this one will be Kelvim Escobar. The Angels righthander has a 3.28 ERA to go along with a 2-1 record this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Angels listed as 140-moneyline favorites versus the White Sox, while the game's total has not yet been posted.

The White Sox were swept by the Mariners, losing the finale 3-2 Wednesday as +115 underdogs. The five runs were UNDER the posted over/under (9).

Paul Konerko was 2-for-4 with one RBI from a solo homer for the White Sox. John Danks remained winless after four starts, giving up three runs off six hits over 6 2/3 innings on the hill.

The Angels were defeated 5-2 by the Royals last time out as -130 favorites, settling for a split of the four-game set. The seven runs were UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).

Vladimir Guerrero belted a two-run homer for both RBI in the loss. Jered Weaver allowed three runs off seven hits over six innings of work and suffered the loss on the mound.

The White Sox had early chances to score some runs, but they were unable to cash in. Meanwhile, the Angels seemingly took advantage of every early Sox mistake. Jermaine Dye plated the lone run with a third-inning double.
