- The Texas Rangers will be fighting to snap a losing streak on Thursday when they take on the New York Yankees at Ameriquest Field in doubleheader action.

The Yankees will pin their hopes on the pitching of lefthander Andy Pettitte in this game. Pettitte has a 1-1 record and a 3.21 ERA this season.

It'll be ace Kevin Millwood toeing the rubber for the Rangers in this contest. Righthander Millwood is 2-3 with a 5.88 ERA so far this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Yankees listed as 230-moneyline favorites versus the Rangers, while the game's total is sitting at 11.

The Yankees thumped the Rangers 10-1 in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday night. The Yankees won the game as -130 favorites, while the 11 runs were a PUSH against the posted over/under (11).

Robinson Cano was 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Phil Hughes had a no-hitter through 6 1/3 innings before leaving with an injury, but was credited with the win.

Ian Kinsler was 1-for-2 and drove in the only run for the +110 Rangers. Kameron Loe was tagged for nine runs over four innings and suffered the loss.

Yankees 5, Rangers 2

In his first stint back from the disabled list, Mike Mussina, backed by an early Doug Mientkiewicz homer, gave up just one run before leaving after five innings. Derek Jeter extended his hit streak to 20 games, and Mariano Rivera worked through trouble to earn his second save of the day, tripling his season total, as New York swept the doubleheader and the three-game set.
