- The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees will both be gunning for a victory on Sunday when they meet at Yankee Stadium.

Righthander Julian Tavarez will take the mound for the Red Sox to start this game. Tavarez is 0-2 this season with a 8.36 ERA.

Tavarez's opponent in this one will be Chien-Ming Wang. The Yankees righthander has a 5.69 ERA to go along with a 0-1 record this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Yankees listed as 180-moneyline favorites versus the Red Sox, while the game's total has not yet been posted.

Boston committed two errors in Saturday's 3-1 loss at New York, coming in as road underdogs at 100. The four runs scored were UNDER the posted total of 11.

Tim Wakefield (2-3) gave up three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings. Mike Lowell was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Red Sox.

Kei Igawa replaced injured started Jeff Karstens in the first inning, going six innings and allowing only two hits for New York, who were home favorites at -110. Igawa (2-1) struck out six along the way. Jorge Posada hit a two-run homer for the Yankees.
