Avalanche heads south to battle Stars
The Dallas Stars will play host to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday afternoon in the opening game of their first-round playoff series.
Dallas is coming in as -170 home favorites to open the series, while the game's OVER/UNDER is set at 6.
The Stars were powered by a stellar comeback campaign by captain Mike Modano this season, along with rock-solid goaltending from Marty Turco. Dallas earned a division title for the seventh time in nine seasons and won 53 games to set a new club record.
Colorado has reached the post-season for the 11th straight year, but will be starting on the road for the first time since 1987, when they were named the Quebec Nordiques.
