Houston to face rookie Cain today at AT&T Park

Fresh off a win last game, San Francisco can stay on a roll Wednesday by handling the Houston Astros.

The Astros are anxious to maintain their hold on top spot in the National League Central standings. They ask Brandon Backe and his 1-0, 1.50 ERA to keep them there.

Sporting a 4-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark within the division, the Giants aim to knock the Astros (0-0 in the division) for a loss.

Houston gets its chance to win as a road dog after the line opened with their opposition as 130 favorites. They are 5-2 and face the Giants and their 4-2. The total opened at 9.

Houston won at home against the Nationals last game as favorites, tallying a score of 5-4. The combined score went as a push against the total.

The Giants defeated the Braves 6-5 as favorites. That contest went over the closing total.

San Francisco's hitting hasn't been much to write home about, as they are averaging just 7.7 hits per game on the season, ranked #16 in the National League.

HOU: B. Backe (1-0, 1.50)
SF: M. Morris (1-0, 1.42)
