Padres take on Florida with Mitre on hill

The Padres hope they get more respect from the Marlins on Tuesday than they do from Vegas oddsmakers, who peg them as pups.

The Padres sit at the bottom of the National League West standings with a lame 1-4 mark, but hand the ball to Woody Williams to try to get another notch in the win column. Williams brings a 0-0 record and a 0 ERA into this game.

Sporting a 1-4 overall record and a 1-4 mark within the division, the Padres aim to knock the Marlins (0-2 in the division) for a loss.

The Marlins (1-4) opened as 130 favorites and they host a Padres team that has won 1 of their 5 games this season. The total opened at 9.5.

The Padres come off a 10-4 loss against the Rockies, a game where they were favorites. The game went over the closing total of 7.5.

Meanwhile, at Shea Stadium, the underdog Marlins were losing to the Mets 3-2. The game was an under play.

San Diego pitchers are charitable with the baserunners, giving up more hits per game than just about every team in the league. The Marlins hitters could see a lot of good pitches to hit today.
SD: W. Williams (0-0, 0.00)
FLA: S. Mitre (1-0, 0.00)

WTF, seems ludicrous that the odds are even. Not saying that you're making them up or whatever, 4ever, just saying that you'd think the Marlins would be severe underdogs. Specially with Woody Williams pitching.
