Nashville (35-19-7) at Calgary (35-18-7) 9:00 pm EST
CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Calgary Flames have not played away from home since February 6. The way they play at Saddledome, that likely sits just fine with them.
The Flames continue a long homestand and look to strengthen their hold on first place in the Northwest Division when they host the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Calgary has won four of five games during its long stretch without a road game, improving to 22-6-3 here. Its 22 home wins rank second only to the Predators in the Western Conference.
Netminder Miikka Kiprusoff again was the star for the Flames in Saturday's 2-0 triumph over San Jose, making 26 saves for his league-leading seventh shutout. No other NHL goalie has as many as six.
Chris Simon and Jarome Iginla both scored for Calgary, which has the third-fewest goals in the league but has allowed the second fewest.
Nashville, which enters tied with Calgary for fourth in the Western Conference standings in points with 77, opened a four-game road trip with a 3-2 overtime loss to Edmonton on Sunday.
The Predators opened a 2-1 lead after one period on goals by Scottie Upshall and Paul Kariya, but managed just six shots on goal over the final two periods and OT.
In the last meeting between the teams December 27, the Flames took leads of 2-0 and 3-2 before Jerred Smithson and Upshall scored in the third period to lift Nashville to a 4-3 victory.
