BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) - For the second time in four days, the Buffalo Sabres will have a crack at another win over the Boston Bruins when the teams meet Tuesday.
The Sabres improved to 4-0-0 against the Bruins this season with a 3-2 victory at the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday, Buffalo's third straight one-goal victory in the series.
In his first start for the Sabres since January 21, Martin Biron made 20 of his 40 saves in the third period, helping Buffalo survive a 42-25 shot deficit.
Biron allowed a pair of goals in the first seven-plus minutes of the game, but the Sabres fought back to stay within striking distance of Ottawa in the Northeast Division. Entering Tuesday, the Senators own a six-point lead in the division standings.
Daniel Briere scored the equalizer at 6:39 of the second and J.P. Dumont the go-ahead tally just over eight minutes later for Buffalo.
Marco Sturm and Glen Murray scored for Boston, which has lost six of its last eight.
