Washington (20-33-5) at Atlanta (27-27-6) 7:00 pm EST
ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Atlanta Thrashers may need directions to Philips Arena for Saturday's game against the Washington Capitals.
Due to a five-game road trip and the Olympic break, the Thrashers have not played a home game since February 4. They went 2-3 on their trek, capped by Thursday's 3-2 setback to Boston.
Ilya Kovalchuk collected a goal and an assist and Peter Bondra also tallied for Atlanta, which had won its previous three contests, allowing a total of four goals in that stretch.
Washington opened its post-Olympic schedule on Tuesday with a 5-3 victory over Toronto before falling hard against Ottawa, 7-1, two days later.
Rookie sensation Alexander Ovechkin scored a shorthanded goal for the Capitals, but it was the lone bright spot for a penalty-killing unit that allowed five power-play goals in six chances.
Atlanta has gone 3-0-2 against Washington this season, including a 5-2 triumph in the last matchup on New Year's Day behind two goals by Marian Hossa and a goal and two assists by Kovalchuk.
