TORONTO (Ticker) - A meeting with the Ottawa Senators could not possibly come at a worse time for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Senators try to improve to 7-0 against the Maple Leafs this season when the Northeast Division rivals square off Saturday.

The season series has been one-sided to say the least, with Ottawa winning all six meetings by a combined 36-12 margin. The Senators have gone 11-for-43 on the man advantage against the Maple Leafs and have not lost in the series since 6-0 setback on April 3, 2004.

Toronto appears unlikely to pull out a victory Saturday as it has been unable to do so in any of its last four games. The Maple Leafs, who have scored only nine goals during their losing streak, are coming off a 6-2 defeat against Buffalo on Friday despite goals from Alex Ponikarovsky and rookie Alexander Steen.

Meanwhile, Ottawa has won three straight and is coming off a resounding 7-1 triumph over Washington on Thursday. Jason Spezza and defensemen Wade Redden and Brian Pothier scored power-play goals and Antoine Vermette and Peter Schaefer added shorthanded tallies.

Rookie goaltender Ray Emery made 30 saves for the Senators, who have won both of their games since starting netminder Dominik Hasek suffered a strained adductor muscle in the Olympics.

Saturday's contest is the first of a five-game road trip for Ottawa, which is 16-8-4 away from home this season.
