San Antonio (55-16) at LA Lakers (38-34) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The last time Tony Parker visited the Los Angeles Lakers, he had his way with them.

Parker's status this time around is uncertain as his San Antonio Spurs face the Lakers on Thursday.

For the first time this season, Parker had to watch from the sidelines Tuesday as the Spurs defeated the Los Angeles Clippers here, 98-87. He sat out with a sore right shin that has a chance to keep him out of action against the Lakers.

When San Antonio last played the Lakers here March 6, Parker scored all 21 of his points in three quarters en route to a 103-96 victory.

Without him, the Spurs relied heavily on Tim Duncan and Michael Finley to get past the Clippers. Both players scored 20 points and Brent Barry added 11 and five assists as San Antonio stayed atop the Southwest Division.

Entering Thursday, it owns a 1 1/2-game lead over second-place Dallas.

If the standings remain the same, in the first round of the playoffs the Mavericks will take on the Lakers, who have strengthened their positioning with four straight wins, the latest a 105-94 triumph over New Orleans.

Kobe Bryant scored 30 points and Kwame Brown continued his strong play of late with 17 points on 7-of-7 shooting. Lamar Odom chipped in 23 and eight rebounds for the Lakers, who trail sixth-place Memphis by three games in the West.

Although Parker was dominant in his last trip to the Staples Center, the Lakers were able to repay the favor with a 100-92 victory at San Antonio four days later. With a win Thursday, the Lakers will gain a split of the four-game series.
