ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The slumping Minnesota Wild hope to close out their road trip on a positive note when they face the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Friday.

The Wild are in the midst of a five-game road swing that was split by the Olympic break. After splitting the first two games before the Olympics, Minnesota has lost the two contests since the NHL resumed play.

After dropping Tuesday's contest at Colorado, the Wild had a 3-2 setback against Los Angeles on Thursday. Slovakian Olympian Marian Gaborik, who had a goal against the Avalanche, scored twice against the Kings.

Despite the loss, Minnesota is 11th in the Western Conference standings, just five points out of a playoff spot and eight points behind seventh-place Los Angeles.

Anaheim dropped a 2-0 contest against Detroit on Wednesday in its first game back from the Olympic hiatus despite having both captain Scott Niedermayer and star defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh in the lineup for the first time since November 27.

Ozolinsh, who played for the Latvian Olympic team, missed 20 games undergoing substance abuse counseling while Niedermayer returned from arthroscopic knee surgery that caused him to miss playing for the Canadian Olympic squad.

The Wild have won their last four games against the Mighty Ducks, including the first three meetings this season.
