San Antonio (54-16) at LA Clippers (41-28) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Topping the .500 mark for the season is no big deal for many teams. For the Los Angeles Clippers, it borders on historic.

The Clippers can clinch their first winning record in 14 years and capture their fifth consecutive home game Tuesday when they face the San Antonio Spurs in their final regular-season meeting.

Considered one of the league's top underachievers, the Clippers have not finished above .500 since winning 45 games in 1991-1992. A victory would give Los Angeles just its third winning season since the franchise moved from Buffalo to San Diego in 1978.

Gunning for their first playoff appearance in nine years, the Clippers are in fifth place in the Western Conference, one-half game ahead of Memphis.

Elton Brand scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Corey Maggette added 19 points for the Clippers in Sunday's 97-83 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The defending-champion Spurs remain in a dogfight for the top spot in the Southwest Division and the Western Conference. San Antonio is tied with Dallas and trails Eastern Conference power Detroit by 1 1/2 games for the league's best record.

Tim Duncan scored 28 points - his best total since January 28 - and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Spurs in Sunday's 106-102 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics.

San Antonio won the first meeting against Los Angeles on December 13 before the Clippers evened the season series with a 98-85 victory March 7.
