CHICAGO (Ticker) -- A pair of teams on the outside of the playoff picture collide when the New Orleans Hornets visit the Chicago Bulls on Friday.

The Hornets are one game behind Sacramento for the eighth and final postseason seed in the Western Conference, while the Bulls have 3 1/2 games to make up on eighth-place Philadelphia in the East.

After ending their season-high eight-game losing streak Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers in their third and final game in New Orleans this season, the Hornets dropped a heartbreaking 93-92 contest against Houston in Oklahoma City.

David West collected 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets, who had six players in double figures despite shooting 36 percent (35-of-97) from the floor.

Chicago lost its fourth straight game Wednesday when Jermaine O'Neal returned from a two-month absence to lead Indiana to a 95-85 home triumph.

Andres Nocioni, who is averaging 18.5 points during the slide, collected 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench Wednesday. Conversely, Ben Gordon had just nine points on 3-of-15 shooting, the fourth time in six games he was held to single digits.

The Hornets have won 20 of the last 25 meetings against the Bulls, including eight of their last 11 games here.
