Portland (20-47) at Phoenix (45-21) 9:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Amare Stoudemire may return Thursday for the Phoenix Suns as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers in the opener of a two-game homestand.

An All-Star who averaged 26 points and 8.9 rebounds last season, Stoudemire has missed the Suns' first 66 games following microfracture surgery on his left knee in October.

The 23-year-old forward-center has practiced with the team for the past five days and indicated Wednesday there is an 80 percent chance he would be in uniform against the Trail Blazers.

It could be a great boost for Phoenix, which has lost its last two games but still holds a six-game lead in the Pacific Division. It was held under 100 points for just the second time in its last 29 games in Tuesday's 107-99 loss at Utah.

Steve Nash led five players in double figures with 20 points and handed out 10 assists. But the Suns shot an uncharacteristic 40 percent (38-of-94) from the floor and were outrebounded, 54-35.

If in need of a subpar opponent to work back into shape, Stoudemire would have it against Portland, which has lost five straight and 10 in a row on the road.

Zach Randolph had 23 points and 10 rebounds in Portland's 100-93 loss to Milwaukee on Monday.

The Blazers' lone win in their last 10 games was a 111-101 triumph over the Suns on March 12. Randolph had 32 and 14 and Steve Blake handed out a career high-tying 13 assists for Portland.
