SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- Vincent Lecavalier and the Tampa Bay Lightning hope to carry momentum from a pivotal win when they visit the Florida Panthers on Monday.
The defending Stanley Cup champion, Tampa Bay is tied with New Jersey (34-25-8) for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Lecavalier scored a goal and assisted on another Sunday as the Lightning rolled to a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders.
Fredrik Modin and defenseman Pavel Kubina each added a goal and an assist as Tampa Bay climbed into a tie with New Jersey, which dropped a 4-0 decision to Ottawa on Sunday.
The team's leading goal scorer, Lecavalier has six tallies and four assists during his seven-game points streak. He hopes to continue his torrid pace Monday against a Florida club which has won five of its last six to move back into postseason contention.
Roberto Luongo made 37 saves Saturday as the Panthers posted a 4-3 shootout triumph over the Washington Capitals.
