Vancouver (34-21-5) at Nashville (34-19-6) 8:00 pm EST
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Vancouver Canucks realize there is little margin for error in the race for the top spot in the Northwest Division.
The Canucks look for a seventh victory in 10 games and second since the Olympic break Thursday when they meet the Nashville Predators.
Despite missing four defensive regulars due to injuries, Vancouver is tied with Calgary for the top spot in the division race and leads Colorado by one point and Edmonton by five.
Markus Naslund and Anson Carter scored nine seconds apart late in the second period and Alex Auld made 30 saves for his 26th victory Tuesday as the Canucks posted a 2-1 triumph over the Flames.
Nashville has lost four of five and is 11 points behind Detroit for the top spot in the Central Division, while holding a one-point advantage over Calgary in the Western Conference standings.
In their first game after the Olympics, the Predators managed just 20 shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Chris Mason stared in place of Czech Republic netminder Tomas Vokoun and made 30 saves.
The Canucks have won 17 of the 26 encounters against Nashville, including a 4-3 victory December 28, which extended their unbeaten streak in the series to six. Vancouver has taken four of their last five road contests overall.
